Jahrhunderts siedelten sich vereinzelt Evangelische in unserer Gegend an. Nachdem 1840 Ragaz zum Kurort geworden war, zogen immer mehr protestantische Handwerker und Mitarbeitende im Gastgewerbe zu. Gottesdienste fanden zun\u00e4chst in einer Hauskapelle im Hotel Hof alle vierzehn Tage statt. Bernhard Simon, der Begr\u00fcnder des Kurortes, liess nach 1868 einen Betsaal f\u00fcr den deutsch- und englischsprachigen Gottesdienst einrichten.<\/p>\n<div class=\"WordSection1\">\n<p>Die 1863 gegr\u00fcndete Kirchgemeinde setzte sich zum Ziel, eine eigene Kirche zu errichten. Sie beauftragte den bekannten Berliner Architekten Johann Vollmer mit der Planung des Neu\u00adbaus. Am 19. Oktober 1890 konnte die Kirche unter der Bauleitung von Architekt Ferdinand Wachter eingeweiht werden. Seither dient die Kirche der Kirchgemeinde als Gottesdienstraum.<\/p>\n<p>Die Kirche orientiert sich stilistisch an den Formen der Fr\u00fchgotik. Sie ist ein unverputzter Bau in Polygonalmauerwerk. Farbliche Kontraste setzen Architekturteile und Einfassungen aus gelbem Metzer Kalkstein sowie ein Sockel mit Quadern aus schwarzem Ragazer Stein. Der Zahn der Zeit nagt auch an diesem Geb\u00e4ude. Verschiedentlich wurde sie renoviert, zuletzt in den Jahren 2001 und 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Die Kirche ist t\u00e4glich von 8.00 bis 18.00 Uhr offen<\/strong> und l\u00e4dt zur stillen Einkehr oder
